Abstract

|
Bilateral simultaneous facial nerve palsy is facial paralysis that occurs on both sides of the face. It is a rare problem and only occurs for about 0.3% of the entire facial paralysis cases. Therefore, there have not been many clinical studies carried out particularly in the oriental medicine sector. This study has demonstrated that oriental medical treatment has a marked effect on bilateral facial palsy. The patients with bilateral simultaneous facial nerve palsy were treated through acupuncture, herbal medicine and physiotherapy and we continucd to check the degree of paralysis and progress through the treatment based on House-Brackmann scale(H-B scale). It took 24days to improve from grade VI to grade I on the H-B scale for the left face and 28 days for the right face
